Orange You Ready

I WELCOME all The Vivid Styling supporters to my page! I would like to thank you all for visiting and for being interested in the content and wisdom that I have to share with you all.

God has really been doing wonderful things in my life, spiritually down to the natural.  He has and continues to be amazing, so I just want to take a moment to shout out The Lord and Savior of My Life, Jesus Christ!!  While I was on my blog post hiatus for a month or so, I’ve been diligently working on revamping my blog in its entirety: moving it over to a different hosting site and redesigning the look as well as content. It isn’t easy with a 9-5, commitment to God and church, being there for family/friends, and pursuing other endeavors. BUT GOD has my back!!

Last time I spoke with you all, I discussed 2018 goal setting and goal status update ending 1st Quarter 2018. (Click here for last post)  I ensured you all that I would discuss in an upcoming post how I use time management skills to continually work on my goals. First another view of today’s look, because you have been so kind with your interest thus far: ORANGE YOU READY?

One of my goals this year is to dedicate time to revamping my blog, The Vivid Styling.  I’ve been able to manage this goal by creating a daily task list for a given week.  If it is not a goal (nor something I want to accomplish for a given week), it does not make my daily to-do-list for that week. As a result of having many goals that I want to achieve each week, my daily tasks are not concentrated in one area.  For example, I want to make sure that I am spiritually growing, I’m still doing my 9-5 well, and I am working on my blog.  Therefore, I literally list tasks for each goal that I am trying to achieve on my daily to-do-list. This would include studying The Word, my 9-5!, and blog related tasks. I get even specific and list days on which I do household activities. I also do this daily list for the week, so that I can keep track on where I am spending my time.

If something is unchecked on this list for one particular day, I move it over to the next day. I follow this same approach with the tasks on my 9-5 job.  My new motto is, “So what I didn’t get to it?” As humans (especially as Women) because we are trying to do it all, we tend to over work and stress ourselves if something doesn’t get done. So what you have to eat the same dinner as yesterday or have a bowl of cereal because you came home late after working your 9-5 and going to the gym? Seriously.  Moving along, my goal is to get the unchecked item done the next day.  If it doesn’t happen, I re-prioritize my list and eventually get to it that week.  If I am ahead of schedule, I start a task listed under the following day. This has pretty much been my approach for 2018, and it’s working! If you have any questions, comment below. Please also return, and let me know in the comments how this approach has worked for you. Now for the details of today’s look.

Today’s look features a bright orange dress. There are several oranges pieces in my Spring/Summer wardrobe. This is a stylish yet modest office look for that Woman Professional, as it hits right below the knee. It’s great for a morning where you don’t want to spend too much time selecting what to wear, so that you can get right to tackling your goals. This look is also good for a business lunch meeting or for church service.

I purchased this dress on sale for$19.99. To complement this dress, I paired it with tan suede pumps that I found on sale for $24.99 at Marshalls.

For accessories that complement but aren’t too matchy, I chose light pink and gold earrings that I found for $5, a single and double pink and gold bracelet combo for approximately $10, and a light pink, blue, and tan bag for less than $25 that I purchased while visiting a friend in Las Vegas years ago. This entire outfit including the jewelry, shoes, and handbag were purchased for less than $90! Where do they do that at? Not many pumps or a handbags are even sold for $90 or less.
