Hi there. Happy Juneteenth Weekend! I’m pretty much excited about today’s post. I had a poll up on my instagram about content in future blog posts, and one of the responses was featuring different looks for summer events.
An all yellow look is one of my favorite summer looks. If you’re a seasoned member of The Vivid Styling community, you’ve seen my all yellow looks in dress form, a suit-style, and a skirt. I styled these two pieces of clothing that I’ve had in my wardrobe for some time, but never paired together.
If you want to try today’s look, aim for a yellow peplum top and yellow flare/loose-fitting pants. The benefits of peplum is that it creates the vision of a small waist because the peplum extends further out from the waist. This is like an hourglass shape. Furthermore, I think peplum is stylish for the summer too. I chose yellow flare pants simply because its hot. In the summertime, I don’t prefer wearing straight-leg pants because form-fitting clothes traps heat. Flare pants allow for air to flow through. I also enjoy the fact that they are high-waist pants. Peplum tops look good with pencil skirts (especially the high-waisted ones), and any form of high-waist shorts and pants. If yellow is not your color you can try this look in other colors.
For an all yellow look, yellow shoes are the way to go. I completed the styling with my multi-colored bag that also features some yellow. If you don’t have yellow shoes, you can also wear a neutral color as well.
