Hello everyone!
Can you believe we are 15 days away from 2020? Yes, I know.
I just wanted to share some quick tips on the subject of rest which comes in handy for the Woman in Ministry, Working Woman, Mother , Entrepener, Student, and all-of-the-above who is always on-the-go, especially during this time of the year.
Let me back up and give you some history. If you follow me on Instagram @TheVividStyling (if you don’t, what are you waiting for?), I posted on Instagram stories that I’ve been tired the whole last quarter of this year. Am I allowed to keep it 100? Okay, cool. So many women replied to me by letting me know they feel the same. I decided to take actionable steps.
Here are 6 Quick Ways to Regain Your Rest (without a vacation):
- Get some rest: I’m sure this one comes off as obvious. However, when you’re someone that has such a busy schedule, you feel that you can’t really do much in the area during the work week. I use the weekend to work on my businesses as well. This past Saturday, I took it upon myself to sleep in until after 9AM and felt great. So treat yourself to some sleep!
- Worship: Get into the presence of God through worship. Sometimes the cause of feeling tired has to do with how we are feeling spiritually. We need to tap into the spirit, so that whatever is weighing our spirit man down, will flee in the presence of God. Worshipping Jesus isn’t just for Sunday church service. It starts at home.
- “God is a Spirt: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” – John 4:24 KJV
- Prayer/Studying God’s word: Praying to God and studying God’s word is so important. Prayer is your communication to God. If you want to communicate with God, you need to pray. Communication is a two-way street, so prayer is important if you want to hear from God also. What helped me get some rest was praying to God that He would add strength to me and remembering just what God’s word says:
- “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV
- Sometimes you have got to push back: Pouring into others all the time while you’re not getting poured into, will have you spiritually, mentally, and physically feeling tired. I’m still learning in many areas of my life the importance of pushing back, so I’m not feeling drained. Use wisdom in this area when dealing with certain people. Keeping people around you that encourage and pour into you as much as you pour into them, is an amazing thing.
- BY YOURSELF TIME: This topic deserves a period after BY YOURSELF. This should be self-explanatory.
- A spa day: Treat yourself to a facial and massage at your local spa. I didn’t go to the spa this time around. However, I treated myself to a spa day back in July on my birthday. It helped me feel so well relaxed and rested.
Now of course, your girl could use plenty of vacations and trips, just because I’m an explorer by nature. However LEVEL UP SEASON is approaching, and I need all my currencies and figures!
I pray that these tips have helped you to regain your rest. If this has helped, write me below and on Instagram.
Quick tip on the look: I love wearing bright-colored suits. I’ve worn this suit at a work conference. To transition the suit into the weekend, I opted to color-block with a complimentary color, mustard green. Great color blocking with bright colors include: Royal blue and Fuchsia / Yellow and Fuchsia / Red and Light Pink
